Pimp my Yahoo, clean up the mess(enger)

Yahoo_thumb Yahoo! Messenger is a nice app, everyone is using it, unfortunately ~~is full of bugs~~ is bloatware.

Yahoo Messenger comes bundled with some anoying ads and the interfaces is "decorated" with many never-used buttons and features.

In order to get rid of the bloatware, do the following steps:

1. Go to Preferences (Ctrl+Shift+P) and in the General tab uncheck Show Yahoo! Messenger Insider.

2. In the Appearance tab, change the Skin to the Classic skin. It will use the skin of your operating system. Looks neat, IMO.

3. In the LiveWords tab, make sure to uncheck Enable LiveWords. LiveWords is a stupid feature that will make several words in your conversations to link to some web content you don't need. /images/emoticons/mozilla_laughing.gif

4. Then exit preferences and in the Messenger menu, Show/Hide, uncheck everything. However I keep the Status Chooser checked, to be able to change my status fast. Take your time and notice what gets disabled and decide if you realy want to keep that feature.

5. Download this Yahoo Messenger Ad remover patch, place the file in the Yahoo Messenger folder (for example C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger) and run it. Make sure Yahoo Messenger is closed before patching.
